Hm, I do agree that leaders need to be a "hardass" to a certain extent. In sports, Michael Jordan comes to mind (while his sidekick Scottie Pippen was more of the nice guy type and was not as successful as a leader). The "nice guys" either don't have the courage to push back on people who are out of line or worse the 'niceness' is just a cover for being passive-aggressive.
But that being said, I'm not necessarily against Jokowi creating a political dynasty. Heck, if he wants to crown himself king... idk, let him. I think it's a natural for humans to want to be ruled by a king. Just see what happens in places like China or Russia or even France after they get rid of their king, they just create another authoritarian/autocratic system with a strongman at the helm.
